John qualified with a BPharm Hons degree and registered as a pharmacist in 1994. He has garnered considerable experience in a wide range of settings, initially John worked in hospital pharmacy for over 5-years, providing clinical pharmacy support services and as Formulary Pharmacist in the NHS. John then spent 12-years as a locum pharmacist working in several community pharmacies across the North-East of England.
Formerly a Contract Manager with Lloyds Pharmacy John oversaw medicines supply for a speciality mental health trust. This included all aspects operational support, quality management, people management and budget compliance.
John has worked for QE Facilities since 2015, formerly in the role of Associate Director, and now as Director of Pharmacy Services provides oversight and accountability for the Pharmacy Division which provides the outpatient pharmacy for Gateshead Health. John is the designated Responsible Person for the Wholesale Dealer’s Licence, with accountability for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System to the MHRA principles of Good Distribution Practice.
